The OBJECTIVE of BUDO

As written at the entrance of the Nippon Budokan:

“Through physical and mental TRAINING in the Japanese martial ways, BUDO exponents seek to build their CHARACTER, enhance their sense of judgement, and become DISCIPLINED individuals capable of making CONTRIBUTIONS to society at large.”

Full scholarships provided by SANGEN Melbourne Aikikai to members of the dojo who are in severe financial difficulties. These funds cover membership, training fees, uniform, and seminars and are available for children and adults throughout the year.

Annual donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross helping to save and protect lives. This donation is a combined effort from several Aikikai organisations based in Australia that come together in an annual seminar.

100% of the profits of our SANGEN Apparel are donated to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund protecting gorillas and the ecosystems in which they live through a scientific and collaborative people-centered approach.

This specialty coffee, available in our AIKISHOP, is grown in Timor-Leste before being roasted fresh in Melbourne by the amazing team of The Corner Store Network which supports local farmers with social & environmental initiatives.
